I really like the Blouse D pattern from Treasured Collection by Yoshiko Tsukiori. This is the third one I've made. My alterations to the original patterm are (1) sew the pleats all the way down to the waistline rather than stopping at above the bust (which did make it look too much like a maternity top), (2) draw in the sleeve hem by finishing it with a couple of small pleats and hemming it with self fabric bias binding and (3) remove the back pleat. It gives the top a more fitted look and lovely shape while at the same time keeping it comfortable to wear. I always get compliments when I wear this top.
The fabric is a cotton voile that I bought from a stall a few months ago at the back of Olive Grove Studios in Sydney Road, Brunswick. The vendor was moving interstate and selling off her fabric stash. I managed to snare myself a few bargains!
